Part of the joys of Christmas are the decorations, the carols and the scent of fresh pine inside of your house. There is a downside to some of those joys as well. The fresh pine smell that comes from your Christmas tree can be a beautiful smell to invigorate your home but the pine needles being traipsed all through your house may not be that much fun! Our dogs usually like to take a few hundred sips of water from the tree stand every few hours as well as dig up the pot. The branches on the tree may not be sturdy and become flimsy, dropping ornaments over the floor. For millions of people, the joys of having a live Christmas tree in their home is simply too much trouble which involves too much cleaning up.

Buying an artificial Christmas tree can remove all of those troubles in one easy swoop. The branches are sturdy and can hold heavier ornaments. The dogs will soon work out that there isn’t any water to drink and there won’t be any needles all over the floor every morning and a carcass to remove in January. You will, of course, miss the fresh scent of pine but you can compensate for that by getting a live wreath for your house. Or, you can get some scented air freshener or scented candles. It won’t be the same but the convenience of getting an artificial Christmas tree may make it worth your while.

The cost of an artificial Christmas tree can be quite a bit more than a live tree. But remember, you are buying the artificial Christmas tree for life not just the season. Check out the after Christmas sales and you might find a great bargain after the holidays are over. You may even be lucky enough to get an artificial tree cheaper than you would have paid for a live tree. Yes, you’ll have to wait for the next Christmas, but, think of the savings you will have mad, more to spend on gifts!

There is a variety of artificial Christmas trees. You can find prelit trees, decorated trees, pine lookalike trees, tinsel trees – whatever you need to make your life easier. If you have storage room for the tree, you’re all set. Most of the artificial trees come apart in sections, making storage much more convenient. Just pack them in the box and pop them in the shed until next year. Some people don’t even pack their tree up, they just move it fully decorated to the basement until the next season.

If you are concerned about the state of the environment you can get a great deal of satisfaction by saving a tree once a year. If you buy an artificial Christmas tree instead a live one you will be playing a small part in saving the planet. Sounds a bit silly, right? Not necessarily. If you aren’t supporting your local Christmas tree farm or sales, that’s one less tree that has to see the end of its days. Of course, someone else may end up having that same tree cut down, but at least you can know that you played your part. There isn’t a constant need to grow trees for years and years, simply to cut them down for one simple celebration. After a few weeks, those trees are thrown away. If you buy an artificial Christmas tree, you won’t have that worry. You’ll know that your perfectly shaped Christmas tree will be around for years to come either stored in a box of waiting in the basement!

This is one of my favourite trees and I thought you might like it as well.
